Lots of Things going on.....

First off. Haley's aunt Michelle did some fancy coloring and cutting during the Christmas Holidays for Haley and gave her the cutest hairstyle and color! Her school gave her a hard time for the colors but they faded fast and they didn't do anything to her for it. Then she let her friend cut her hair.... BIG mistake. She made it look like it was falling out from being sick. It was stringy and limp. Carl and I hated it. So I "fixed" it. It looked good from the front but the back was "jacked up" from what I hear.

Haley went back to Michelle's to get it fixed again and got a sort of punky pixie cut. It is adorable! Thanks Michelle!

Now for the baseball news..... We spent the entire weekend back and forth to Waco for a baseball tournament. Two games on Saturday, three games on Sunday. It was freaking cold as a witch's tit on Sat (sorry, that's one of my Dad's old sayin's). But the Bryan Knights 10 and under team won the tournament. They won every game! I knew we had this tourney, I had no doubts.... But the team we played last, on Sunday was a team we had already beat on Sat. You betcha they were ready to play hard.... And they did. The Waco Thunder gave us a run for our money. I was on the edge of my seat for the last two innings. Well, scratch that, I actually got out of my seat to watch.... (my seat was really warm with blankets so this really showed my support! :) )

It was down to the last out..... The hitter sent the ball straight to right field where Miles lives. He has turned out to be an awesome hitter these past few months. He is a big kid too so he doesn't move as fast as Hunter (another post for later) so that hit for the third out was all about Miles. Guess what? He moved faster than I had seen ever, picked it up, wailed the ball to our best ever first base - Travis- and got the final out. Talk about movie material.... This entire tournament was way too cool. In addition to the last play..... Hunter running, Landon's monster hits, Jackie's textbook bunt, Mason's guns to second base, awesome plays by Jake and Lane in the infield... Leon's awesome hitting, and Josh's major outs at third base... We brought the game. Yes we did. All of our boys need to be proud as hell for the way they played this weekend. It takes a lot of energy and determination to play 5 games in two days. Let's see these high payed MLB players do that! I bet they would whine and ask for money.... Our Bryan Knights can whoop your rear ends!

Let's not forget our coaches. Carl mentioned that he noticed the other teams getting tired pretty early on during the game... And that our boys were still jumping around, and ready to bring it. This is because of our dedicated coaches. Our practices run a little long sometimes. Just when I think they may be done, they are made to run the bases or do one more drill. This has seemed to work out in the long run because our little men have the stamina that most grown men do not. They played hard all weekend....

Not to brag but Carl knows baseball. He played semi-pro for a while and was a member of other hardball teams from high school on to about 2004... Lots of baseball in our lives..... We breathe it here.

It's nice to share the obsession. Thanks to everyone, our kids are having a blast, building their confidence, and becoming little men. Go Knights!
